Dr. Antonieta Angulo | Associate Professor of Practice

Projects:

Antonieta Angulo holds a professional degree in architecture from Ricardo Palma University in Lima-Peru (1980) and a doctoral degree from Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands (1995). Her professional career comprises the design of residential and commercial projects in Peru, including healthcare facilities and the passenger terminal of the Chincheros International Airport in Cuzco. Her academic career includes teaching and research activities at Texas A&M University (1995-2007), where she was awarded the 2005 college of architecture teaching excellence award. She is currently an Associate Professor of Practice at Ball State University teaching graduate and undergraduate studios as well as traditional and digital media courses. Her research is focused in the application of emerging media in the teaching and practice of design.  Among her research interests are (1) augmented virtuality applications in architecture, that includes the creation of virtual worlds, virtual sets, and walk-through environments to be experienced through a myriad of sensory interfaces for the sake of visualization, analysis, simulation, and decision support aid, and the (2) enhancement of visual-spatial skills, through training, gaming, designing of challenging and complex geometries.
